About What we do
Tuckpointing
Tuckpointing started as long ago as the 18th century. It consists of a highly skilled craft to imitate gauged brickwork. First a coloured mortar that must match the original bricks is applied to the joints, then a thin ribbon is tucked into the mortar and trimmed top and bottom giving the appearance of immaculate perfect bricks.
Flushpointing
This is a process using lime mortar and sand. The Mortar is applied with a small trowel, before the mortar has time to dry, it must be rubbed over with a piece of wood and brushed with a wire brush to give a flush clean effect.Brick Staining
Brickwork is cleaned first and any old joints to be raked out and washed down prior to bricks being stained. The stain is applied with a paint brush and is carefully matched with the existing brickwork for an outstanding effect.Brick Replacement
Any worn and damaged bricks are carefully cut out and replaced with matching bricks. These are then pointed correctly to prevent any water/damp damage occurring.KP Tuckpointing & Restoration can carry out all of the above processes in and around the London and surrounding areas to a very high standard.
